HOMESTEAD CHAOS
In this house and on this property, if you're an animal, you will be spoiled.
I am a dog mom. A cat mom. And I guess, chicken mom? The chickens just want snacks though.
But here, you will find me posting images of my crazy crew because they are always my reason. They've carried me through alot and I owe them my everything.
If you have snacks, the hens always will be eyeballing you for you to share.
Frodo was a Buff Orpington rooster who sacrificed himself fending off the neighbor's dog. Not a single hen was injured, but unfortunately Frodo did not survive his injuries after I rescued him from the dog.
Claude is an Iowa Blue who has called the acreage home for a number of years. He is no longer the head rooster and can relax and enjoy his time without being constantly vigilant.
Phillipe is a French Copper Maran rooster that we bought off a farm who did not want roosters. He is an excellent rooster, along with his brother Pierre. Big, handsome boys who keep their ladies safe and cared for.
Nature lover
From raccoons to flowers to small bugs in my garden to birds in flight, I love nothing more than taking my camera and sitting and waiting to see what wanders by. Nature is flighty and fickle. Dragon and damselflies can take an hour to photograph because you spend that much time scooting closer by the inch so as not to frighten them. You see alot when you put down your phone and really start looking at the world around you.
